Blackout's Paint Cans are a collectible for players to find.

In Call of Duty, players are rushing to find the quickest way to collect Blackout paint cans. This surge of interest in acrylic varnishing comes from the latest update to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which introduces a new weapon skin progression system.

In this skin progression system, players must find items called Paint Cans to unlock variant camos of Gold, Diamond and Dark Matter for their weapons. These paint cans can be found throughout the in-game world and seem to be generated randomly.

In today's #BlackOps4 update:

• Pro Series MP playlist
• Mastery Camos and full camo support in Zombies
• New camo progression system and Mastery Camos in Blackout on PS4
• PC 1.12 update
• Nuketown playlists + 2X Merits begin tomorrow!

Blackout Paint Cans: What's the Quickest Way to Collect Them

Players looking for a quick method to collect the cans are out of luck. Thus far it seems there is no consistent spawn locations or themes; they can be found in virtually every terrain atop any feature. Furthermore, every round of Blackout seems to have completely different locations.

This will likely be frustrating for players, as these cans serve as the currency needed to unlock each tier of weapon camo, starting with five and incrementally rising in price. Given the random nature of their spawn and the gradually shrinking playable area, players are almost incentivized to ignore combat and sprint through the world as fast as possible to try and find as many cans as they can in the current round.

Speaking frankly, the quickest way to find paint cans for your weapons is to completely ignore your guns and instead run, Forrest, run.
