WEST CHESTER, Pa. — First-round draft choice Jerome Brown, from the University of Miami, signed a contract Friday with the Philadelphia Eagles and reported to training camp.
Also agreeing to terms and reporting was Mike Quick, an All-Pro receiver the past four years for the Eagles.
Brown, a defensive lineman and the ninth player taken overall in last April’s draft, accepted a four-year contract worth about $1.8 million.
Brown said he remained in contact with team officials and tried to remain in shape since he left town 2 1/2 weeks ago.
“I just have to get the kinks out and hit with pads on,” he said. “I think I’ll adjust pretty quickly.”
Brown will play the second half of the Eagles’ exhibition game against New England Sunday, Philadelphia coach Buddy Ryan said Friday.
“I’m ready to go,” Brown said.
