The Norton Museum of Art kicks off its season with a who’s who of celebrated surnames — Cézanne, Degas, Gauguin, van Gogh, Manet, Pissarro, Toulouse-Lautrec and Modigliani, the Italian artist whose portrait of French protean surrealist Jean Cocteau is featured here. The exhibition, Artists in Motion: Impressionist and Modern Masterpieces from the Pearlman Collection, spotlights the influential milieu of Paris in the late-19th and early-20th centuries. Nearly 40 Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, sculptures and works on paper are on view at the West Palm Beach museum through Feb. 18. norton.org
