Well, technically, "New York" is a pretty lame and derivative name also, but we give it props, too. Sounds like something out of Sid Meier's Civilzation, when they started running out of names for cities.
Ever since the words, "Beyond to the lair of Dragotha, the Undead Dragon, where fabulous riches and hideous death await," appeared on that map in Whie Plume Mountain before my 15-year-old eyes, Dragotha has had a special place in the "wonder and mystery" part of my heart.
