Deerfield Island Park is a 53.3-acre nature-oriented park accessible only by boat. The park contains two main nature trails. The Coquina Trail is a half-mile trail with an observation tower overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway. The Mangrove Trail includes a boardwalk through the mangroves. The park sets aside camping areas for nonprofit youth groups. The park is home to many animals, including raccoons, squirrels, gopher turtles and birds. It also has uncovered picnic tables, a shaded playground and a covered shelter that can be rented for parties.
