Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is designed to literally put tools in the hands of youth for their growth and development. When I started teaching at our exceptionally diverse title 1 school a few years ago, I didn't realize just how much our students went without. As I've built and developed a theatre program, I've wanted to extend that to students learning tangible stagecraft skills they can use throughout their lives.
Experiential learning is crucial to the learners of today and the leaders and creators of tomorrow.
Many of my students come from families where trade skills and craftsmanship are part of their daily life. I want to give students the ability to put their hone and refine skills that will give them stable futures. Having these tools will help students to contribute to productions in ways they can see.
