Want to dye armor in Horizon Forbidden West? Here's everything you need to know.

Whether gamers play for the story, the combat, or the achievement, one thing is for certain: everyone wants to look good doing it. While the starting armor set is gorgeous, who wants to wear the same armor set for the whole game? As players progress through the story, new pieces of armor are obtained and upgraded, giving Aloy a new look each time.

To dye armor in Horizon Forbidden West and make Aloy look her best, players must grab the proper materials and head to a Dyer. Dyers are represented on the map with a mortar and pestle icon, with the most common Dyer, Gana, being found in Plainsong.

How to Dye Armor in Horizon Forbidden West

Before you head to a Dyer and start crafting a new gorgeous set of armor, players must first obtain dyes. Dyes can be found at various point around the world, with the most popular method being via flowers. Furthermore, completing errands and side quests for characters can also award exclusive dyes.

Keep in mind that dyes are not the only requirement for changing the color of Aloy's gear. Metal Shards are also a requirement, with each change of color costing 25 shards. According to Dipanjan Dey, players can farm Metal Shards by completing quests throughout the game and conquering The Hunting Ground Trials.

Furthermore, players can find Metal Shards by searching through treasure boxes while exploring the map. Players should also keep in mind that each time a new piece of gear is obtained, the cost to dye remains the same - even after it has been unlocked and used.

All in all, Horizon Forbidden West offers players a plethora of different armor sets, and even more customization with the dye system.
