James H. Traynor, an automotive consultant and former owner of the Traynor Motors car dealership in Fairfield, Conn., died on Monday after a traffic accident at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Conn. He was 55.
Born in Highland Park, Mich., Mr. Traynor was a graduate of the Lawrence Institute of Technology in Detroit. He served in the Marine Corps in 1956 and 1957.
In 1990, he sold Traynor Motors, a Fairfield dealership selling Ford, Volkswagen, Porsche and Audi cars, and opened an automotive consulting concern, Bronson Management Inc.
Mr. Traynor is survived by his wife, Anne; two sons, James C. of Los Angeles and Scott M. of Hoboken, N.J.; a daughter, Libby, of Fairfield; his mother, Sarah J. Traynor of Lighthouse Point, and a sister, Sheila Klein of Houston.
