Keith is currently working as a correspondent for Dateline NBC since 1995. There, Todd has covered an extensive range of stories, such as the “Dirty John” case, the Robert Durst trials, investigating the disappearance of two Idaho children, and a series of wrongful convictions.
Beginning his career in the 1960s, he worked for several television and radio stations in Canada’s western provinces, before joining Canada’s CTV Network in 1973 where he worked as a news anchor, correspondent, and producer. During his time at CTV, Keith earned several awards for his coverage of a middle-east war, national politics, and the Boat People refugee saga in the aftermath of the Vietnam War.
During the early 1980s, he worked for the CBC Network’s The Journal as a co-host and political correspondent. Throughout his time at The Journal, he contributed documentaries on Canadian political life and also interviewed key newsmakers, both in Canada and worldwide.
Keith joined NBC in January 1986 working as a co-anchor of the 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. news on KNBC-TV-based in Los Angeles. After two years, he joined NBC News serving as a West Coast correspondent for both Today and NBC Nightly News, among other NBC News programs. Keith rejoined NBC in 1995.
