The Magic: Legends open beta is now live with a variety of game modes. These include five narrative campaigns as well as multiplayer options. Multiplayer features group play for up to three people a 1v1 PvP mode for players looking for some intense bouts of magic.
Magic: Legends PvP: A Brief Primer
While Magic: Legends group play multiplayer pits three players against AI enemies, the PvP option has two players square off in a match of strategy, strength, and timely decision-making. Players will have to build up their deck of spell cards in single-player mode before entering the fray. The PvP mode is not only a way to show off the spells you have collected but also your skill in battle.
The vast variety of spells available in Magic: Legends has the potential to make no PvP matchup the same. Players can customize their decks to their liking or match their preferred playstyle. The video above also mentions that the development team will be monitoring PvP matchups in order to keep the game balanced, suggesting that there could be tiers for spell cards.
Magic: Legends is a new action-RPG taking most of its gameplay elements from the Magic: The Gathering card game. The open beta is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
