Hurricane Nicole made landfall early Thursday on Florida’s east coast as a Category 1 hurricane with top winds of 75 mph.
Nicole has weakened to a tropical storm that is expected to take a diagonal path across the Florida peninsula toward the Gulf of Mexico.
