Mary McAdoo, 79, of Boca Raton passed away on January 26, 2024 following a lengthy illness.
Mary grew up on Long Island, New York, the oldest of three children born to Loretta and George Sessa. Following her graduation from high school, Mary pursued a nursing degree and earned her registered nursing license. Mary dedicated herself to the care and wellness of others for nearly 50 years.
Beyond her profession, Mary raised five children with her late husband, Ernest. Over many years, Mary housed and managed cookies for the girl scouts and candy bars for the bands. She was a PTA president, a classroom mother, a birthday party planner, a chauffeur, and a soccer (and tennis) mom. She regularly attended her beloved St. Ambrose Church, where she volunteered in later years.
Mary is survived by her five children: Kristen (Mark) Hinson of Colorado, Michelle (Rich) Buoye of Florida, Janine (Joe) Albano of Florida; Colleen Ryf of Virginia, and Bryan McAdoo of Florida. Mary is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kyle (Emily) Hinson, Erin Hinson, Austin Hinson, Adam Zager, Abby Zager, Jaqueline Albano, Lauren Albano, and Christopher Albano, as well as one great-grandson, Ambrose Hinson. Mary is also survived by her brother, Jerry (Mary Kay) Sessa of New Jersey.
Services will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 380 Federal Hwy., Deerfield Beach on February 9, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Trustbridge Hospice Care.
