The QBall will support learning by greatly enhancing classroom discussions. There are numerous examples of students attempting to contribute to engrossing, classroom conversations but lack the necessary volume to be heard by the entire class. This can be quite frustrating for both students and teachers. The constant echo of "I can't hear him/her!" as teachers continually plead with students to "speak up". Classroom discussion plays an integral role in learning and the QBall will help ensure that all student voices are heard and valued. It is quite common for students who are newcomers and/or English language learners and lack the skills or confidence to speak in a loud, audible voice. Technology such as the QBall, will help ensure equity of voices amongst all students, boost student self-confidence, and help foster a diverse and more engaging learning environment.
