Story time happens multiple times a day in our multi age classroom. Students asked for story all summer and I gladly scheduled that. Optional story time brought in 10- 15 students every week. In class or online the students love being read too. Stories help the students connect with concepts that are abstract , like emotions and how to deal with them. In a Montessori environment books are always available. Children choose among hundreds of possible educational activities to make their own discoveries, enhance their motivation and concentration, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Other materials are used to help develop fine motor development (play-dough). Due to COVID we are going through more play- dough and expo markers because students all have their own.
