Officials: Medical emergency diverts JetBlue flight to Orlando

A JetBlue flight to Orlando was diverted Friday morning because of a medical emergency with a passenger, officials said.

JetBlue flight 802 took off from Salt Lake City after 2 a.m.

At some point, the flight was diverted to Oklahoma City “out of an abundance of caution,” according to JetBlue spokesman Sebastian White.

“Upon arrival into Oklahoma City, the [passenger] was transferred to a local hospital,” White said in an email.

The flight is expected to continue its journey to Orlando, White said.
