My Project
In fourth grade students are encouraged to read a variety of books by competing in the Battle of the Books. There are twenty books assigned that students read as a team and then battle out to see who comprehended and remembers the most about them! This is a fantastic way to get students not only reading, but discussing what they read.
I am asking for a class set of Battle of the Books books so that more students have the opportunity to participate.
This will not only benefit students in my classroom this year but in years to come as the Battle of the Books program cycles back to the same book list.
Along with Battle of the Books, I am also asking for engaging games for inside recess. Unfortunately, the weather in Utah is often unpredictable, whether it is rain, snow, or poor air quality. Students deserve to still have a well-deserved break during an inside recess where they can interact with their peers. These interactions foster the social-emotional learning that is needed for real life. This will help students in my classroom for years to come.
