On Saturday night I had dinner at Seasons 52 in Boca Raton. The pricy restaurant is famous for serving local food and all entrees are 500 calories or less. The menu changes every season.
I was expecting a lot but unfortunately my experience was: forgettable.
Neither my friend or I were not impressed with our entrees. I had trout and my friend had artichoke shrimp – both bland. Our meals came with vegetables but nothing else so the bill spirals upward quickly.
Inside the restaurant looks very northern with dark wood and stone and nothing about it celebrates the restaurant’s location in warm, fun, vibrant South Florida.
I didn’t find serving entrees under 500 calories a big deal because nowadays if you choose carefully, it’s easy to order a low calorie meal at almost any restaurant. And the food might be more tasty and the atmosphere a lot more fun.
On the plus side our waiter was terrific, the flat bread was excellent, and the salad was good. The desserts, which are served in shot glasses are fun and yummy. I had a sugar free, dark chocolate mousse and my friend had a dark chocolate cake/mousse.
There are 17 other Seasons 52 restaurants in Florida and in some other states. Reservations suggested and the Boca location is crowded.
