Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center has been selected as a beneficiary of the “SMART Ride” for the fifth consecutive year.

The Southern Most AIDS/HIV Ride is a two-day, 165-mile bike ride from Miami to Key West that raises funds and awareness for Florida agencies that support individuals infected, affected and at-risk for HIV/AIDS.

CDTC, based in Fort Lauderdale, has received a total of $606,732 over the past four years to benefit the children, adolescents and families of the center’s Comprehensive Family AIDS Program. The funds have had a tremendous impact in helping provide direct services such as medical care, transportation assistance, medications and nutritional supplements.

“We are incredibly grateful to once again have the opportunity to participate in this extraordinary event,” said Ana E. Calderon Randazzo, executive director of CDTC.

The SMART Ride will take place Nov. 18-19.
