What does the Hunter's Cloak do in Fortnite?
Fortnite players are asked to craft the Hunter's Cloak—a unique piece of armor that can do extraordinary things in-game.
Chapter 2, Season 6 has thrown players back to land lost in time. Well, maybe more so between dimensions than time, but it sure feels like it. Fortnite Island is now completely overgrown with lush forests, wild beasts, and several enemy players ready to craft a weapon and achieve their own Primal Victory Royale.

What Does the Hunter's Cloak Do in Fortnite?
In-game, the Hunter's Cloak is described as an article of clothing that will help "throw off" a creature's scent tracking. Essentially, it acts as something of a stealth ward. Players who equip it will not be bothered by the hostile wild animals roaming the island—boars, and wolves.
This makes the cloak exceptionally handy for those who have more important things to worry about apart from making sure they don't get merked by Fido's fifth cousin. Simply put it on and animals will act as though the player doesn't exist.
Since it was an early challenge, we expect active players already have the cloak's recipe handy. Those that don't or are just getting started shouldn't worry, however. They can still easily learn to craft it and enjoy its benefits.
The recipe for a Hunter's Cloak is:
- Animal Bones (2x)
- Meat (x1)
Both of these can be obtained by—surprise, surprise—hunting. Any roaming animal will do as they will likely carry these ingreidents. Fortunately, without the cloak, they should be pretty easy to engage.
Happy Hunting!
