When was Echo released in Overwatch? Echo is a newer addition to the game and is unique in her own right. Her character can fit into many compositions and has a versatile range of skills that attribute to that. She can pick off targets in the backline and dive in on tanks if needed. The question is, when was she released?

When Was Echo Released in Overwatch?
Echo was released on April 14, 2020. Her release came with much excitement in the community as she seemed different than other DPS heroes in her category. Her name was originally Iris and she had a different design before release but that changed by the end of development. She is the 32nd hero released and the last hero that will be released before the release of Overwatch 2.
Echo's personality is based on Doctor Mina Liao, her creator. As Echo continues to adapt away from the confines of a lab, there is no knowing what she will adapt to. Her story is unique in its own right as she is a developing figure in the lore with a backstory that has its own different twists and turns. She was a welcomed change to the meta and players from around love to play her.
