Where is Sigma from Overwatch? Teaser trailers were released just a week ago, and players are wondering how they can get the chance to play as him. Here is some insight on where you can play Sigma right now, as well as when he will be released.

Currently, Sigma is only available on the PTR for the PC version of Overwatch. Unfortunately for console players, Sigma will not be playable until his live release.

In this quick update, Game Director Jeff Kaplan talks about changes to the release schedule, incoming quality of life features, and Overwatch’s improved cheat detection system.

On the PTR, Sigma can be played in Quickplay, Arcade, and in the Role Queue Competitive Beta. Sigma is a Tank hero, so if you want to play as him, you need to queue for the Tank role in your games.

Where is Sigma From Overwatch?

Although Sigma is currently playable on the PTR servers, his release date is still not yet known. In a recent developer update, Jeff Kaplan mentioned that the schedule for the Summer months would be different than what is usually done by Blizzard. They said that the new hero would release later than usual.

Blizzard often makes hero announcements during their annual convention, Blizzcon, which typically happens in early November. They then release those announced heroes a couple weeks later, in the middle of November. It is possible that Blizzard might release Sigma even later than normal, and his presence on the PTR will be used to fine tune him so that he is balanced upon release.

Unfortunately, this might mean that Sigma won't be released until late November or even December. However, if the late release to live servers means that Sigma will be balanced, then it at least shows that Blizzard has been learning from previous hero releases, and is actively taking efforts to help improve the state of the game.
