Will heaven be in Doom Eternal? The Doom series has spent its fair share of time in hell, murdering demons and fighting back generally evil monsters. Some players have grown weary of hell's never-ending flames, yearning for some visual and atmospheric variety. Will they get the chance to visit the polar opposite of hell in the Doom's next iteration?

I'm excited for Doom: Eternal. Why?
Because we're getting a new vision of Heaven in the same twisted, grungy cyberpunk style we've seen of Hell for 4 titles so far.
People do understand that, right?

Will Heaven Be in Doom Eternal?

Doom Eternal developer id Software has said players will visit several locations over the course of the game. Among the confirmed locations are hell, Phobos, Mars, Earth and, yes, heaven.

Specifics of how heaven will be presented in-game are mysterious, but creative director Hugo Martin briefly addressed the team's approach to heaven in an interview with VG24/7.

"It's our own take on heaven, and the kind of conflict between good and evil is something… the Slayer is the ultimate badass and nothing, including Heaven, can stand in his way. As we continue to expand the universe, it's a fantastic kind of addition."

"We don't just include something like Heaven just for visual spectacle. It's interwoven into every single thing; the past, the future, the present."

Doom Eternal will be released March 20.
