My Project
I am continuing to build an amazing collection of quality picture books for my elementary theme boxes. Kindergarten, first and second-grade teachers use my theme boxes each week. They are so loved by the students. I provide bins of theme books with cross-curricular learning materials so that only copies need to be run to implement activities for the week. Since so many teachers are now using them, I don't have enough to go around. Teaching from books can be very powerful especially when the students really enjoy the read-aloud. I love providing books of interest for children. This is why I am asking for a variety of winter themed books. The students love them so much they end up reading them again and taking quizzes on them. As they read, they develop their fluency and comprehension skills. They also use the books to have peer discussions on characters and the sequence of events. This collection of books will be perfect for Winter!
